How to use this calculator
Measure the net surface area, select square feet or square metres and enter the layer consumption given in your supplier’s technical data sheet. Use separate rates for the base and decorative finish. The calculator multiplies each rate by its coat count and area, then applies the waste allowance and rounds purchasing quantities to complete packages.
The calculation explained
Base kg = area in m² × base kg/m²/layer × base layers × (1 + waste ÷ 100). Finish kg is calculated the same way with its own rate and layer count. Bags required = round up(kg required ÷ kg per package).
Check these details before ordering
- Confirm that the coverage rate is specified per layer rather than for the completed system.
- Use the correct rates for the actual surface and product.
- Budget primers, membranes, sealers and labor separately.

Is the default microcement consumption correct for every product?
No. Starting values demonstrate the calculator. Replace every sample rate with the technical data sheet for the exact product and intended substrate.
Why are base and finish quantities separate?
Products used for the base and decorative finish can have different coverage rates, layer requirements and package sizes.
Does this calculate waterproofing?
No. It only estimates quantities and container spending. Wet-area detailing requires an approved specification and appropriate assessment.
