How to use this calculator
Measure the area that will actually receive plaster. Convert the manufacturer’s consumption figure into kilograms per square metre per layer, and enter the number of layers used for your selected system. The calculator adds an allowance and rounds the order to complete tubs.
The calculation explained
Plaster kg = project m² × layer count × kg per m² per layer × (1 + waste ÷ 100). Purchase containers = round up(plaster kg ÷ kg per container).
Check these details before ordering
- Confirm if your supplier uses kg/m² for each layer or for the entire finish.
- Mock-up the desired texture before ordering for a large project.
- Include preparation and other system components in your overall budget.
Frequently asked questions
Is Venetian plaster coverage the same as ordinary wall plaster?
No. Decorative plasters have formulation-specific consumption. Use the figures provided for your chosen finish.
Can I enter square feet?
Yes. The calculator converts square feet into square metres internally for kilogram-based consumption rates.
Are primer and polishing materials included?
No. The result counts the finish product entered, not every item needed to install the system.
